The R&A Women in Golf Charter

A Commitment to a More Inclusive Culture Within Golf

At The Warwickshire Golf & Country Club, we are committed to fostering a culture that values the involvement of women and girls in every aspect of the game—from playing to professional careers in golf.

We call on everyone involved in the sport to play their part in developing an inclusive environment that supports and celebrates the contribution of women. Our aim is to increase the number of women and girls both playing and working in golf.

To achieve this, we recognise the need for a fundamental cultural shift within the game. There is both a clear ethical imperative and a significant economic opportunity in growing the sport by increasing female participation.

We support The R&A’s commitment to lead this important initiative and to collaborate with partners, affiliates, and the broader golf industry to effect meaningful change.

Our Commitment to the Women in Golf Charter

By signing the Women in Golf Charter, The Warwickshire Golf & Country Club makes a public and tangible commitment to:

Developing a welcoming and inspiring environment for women and girls to enjoy golf.

Encouraging more women to play the game, remain in the sport, and pursue fulfilling careers within the golf industry.

The Charter: Our Guiding Principles

This Charter:

Represents a united statement of intent from the golf industry and The Warwickshire Golf & Country Club to address gender balance at all levels.

Commits all stakeholders to supporting initiatives that increase female participation, including families, women, and girls.

Calls for positive action to encourage women to consider and pursue careers in all areas of golf.

Recognises the importance of creating and sustaining an inclusive environment within golf and at our club.

Our Action Plan

As signatories of the Women in Golf Charter, we commit to activating its principles by:

Developing and implementing an internal strategy to enhance gender balance at every level of our club.

Assigning senior management responsibility for gender inclusion and ensuring it is regularly reviewed at committee and board levels.

Advocating strongly for more women and girls to play and work in golf.

Collaborating with key stakeholders to build and embed a more inclusive culture throughout the club and the sport.

Promoting the Charter and championing our shared goal of encouraging female participation and leadership in golf.

Together, we can shape a game that reflects the diversity, talent, and passion of everyone who loves it.
